Baroque Works is geared up to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, though the real showdown won’t unfold until season 3, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced recently that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that character re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, as in the original manga and animated series.

Escola joins a number of fresh additions tasked with bringing the group to reality, including leader Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.

Although Bon Clay is a major member of the group, the individual won’t appear until One Piece the third season. With the next season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this marks a significant shift in the timing of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the role. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
